ABOUT CAR
The Center for Automotive Research,
a nonprofit organization, is focused on a wide variety of important
trends and changes related to the automobile industry and society
at the international, federal, state and local levels. CAR conducts
industry research, develops new methodologies, forecasts industry
trends, advises on public policy, and sponsors multi-stakeholder
communication forums. CAR staff possesses expertise in manufacturing
systems, economics and business policies, transportation systems,
supply chain relationships and general policy assessment. Our
research studies investigate how international, federal and local
issues influence the industry, and how the industry affects society
in such areas as employment, the environment and the consumer.
These studies are available to the public.
Affiliates Program
To fulfill its mission, CAR maintains strong relationships with industry, government agencies, universities, research institutes, labor organizations, and other major participants in the international automotive community, The Affiliates Program to strengthen those industry ties and build support of ongoing service activities. The Center for Automotive Research (CAR) is sponsoring a series of breakfast briefings to provide timely insight and research on critical issues facing the North American and international automotive industries. Join us for a seminar on the competitive meaning of the 2007 UAW-Big Three labor agreements, including an industry consensus forecast of human resource hiring and skill needs in the automotive industry through 2016.
